BURGLARY: A Mercersburg woman spent Christmas in Franklin County Jail after she allegedly stole a Wii game system, which she then gave to a friend as a Christmas gift.
Kayla Caroline Frisby, 22, was arrested on Christmas Eve and charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and unauthorized use of an automobile. she was arraigned on the charges by Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne, who set bail at $10,000.
Pennsylvania State Police, McConnellsburg, allege Frisby entered a Back run Road residence illegally at 1 a.m. Christmas Eve and took the game system, which was still in its box, as well as a set of car keys.
Frisby then allegedly took a vehicle from the residence without permission of the owners and drove to a friend’s house. she later gave the Wii to the friend as a gift.
She was in Franklin County Jail in lieu of bail on Sunday.

ACCIDENT: A Mercersburg man was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Christmas Eve, according to Pennsylvania State Police, McConnellsburg.
Police said Travis L. Hege, 19, of Mercersburg, was a passenger in a Dodge Ram driven by David C. West, 19, of Mercersburg.
West lost control of his vehicle while trying to negotiate a left curve on Tower Road at 11:30 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle went off the road and hit a large boulder, then hit a wooden access gate and post to a restricted area.
Hege was riding in the front right seat at the time of the accident and was not wearing a seatbelt, police said. he was taken to Fulton County Medical Center with injuries to his face and neck, according to the police report.
West and a second passenger in the vehicle, Jamie R. Woodward, 28, of St. Thomas, were not injured.
Police said West fled the scene without notifying police of the accident. he has been charged with careless driving.

ACCIDENT: Randy Merrill Wible, 30, of McConnellsburg, was injured Wednesday when a deer jumped off of an embankment on Peach Orchard Road at 5:57 p.m. Wednesday and hit his truck.
Police said the deer went through the truck’s windshield after jumping off the high embankment.
Wible, who was wearing his seatbelt, had “moderate” injuries to his head and face according to the police report.

DUI: Justin Anthony Lapenna, 24, of Holidaysburg, was arrested for driving under the influence after being stopped at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday for making an illegal U-turn through a crossover on Interstate 70.
He was also charged with driving while his driver’s license was suspended for driving under the influence.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott. he was released on $5,000 bail pending a preliminary hearing Jan. 5 in Fulton County Central Court.
