I’d say Rick Santorum had the best night at the CNN Republican debate. we have a $16 trillion national debt, and thanks to Newt Gingrich’s grandiose plans, a good deal of time was spent talking about building space colonies on the moon. Seriously.
There was also a good deal of time spent on sniping between Gingrich and Romney. Wolf Blitzer happily stoked the flames.
These debates are getting tedious. not to mention that the Romney haters are getting more and more angry, and demanding that Santorum drop out of the race so their boy Newt can take Romney down.
The Other McCain was there and live-blogged the event. Maggie live-blogged it, too. Politico has a run-down. I’ll probably post more tomorrow when the videos come out.
As for Romney and Gingrich, they were both mediocre. Romney had a few high points, but also a low point or two. Newt didn’t get the big bang from the audience he was looking for, and seemed kind of tired. Ron Paul had some good answers – especially on health care - but when I disagreed with his Cuba policy on twitter one of his fans got mad at me. Hey, I think that normalizing trade with Cuba would help the commie government abuse the citizens. The Paul fan said we normalized relations with China, so why not normalize relations with Cuba? Didn’t he pretty much make my point for me?
Anyway, stay tuned. It’s late and I’m tired and I still have about seven tabs open in my browser.
